朝、あわてて昨日のWSJを読みました。今日は文化の記事が珍しく多いです。

アメリカのスラングについて取り上げた面白い記事。

Freak out, freak: 異常な精神状態や変人、いろいろな意味を持つ。外国人は使わないのが無難

Hook up: 会うとかいろいろな意味を持つ。性的な意味も持つので使わない方が良い。

Literally: truthfully or without exaggeration 誇張するときにも使う

景気が後退しても労働需給はタイト

急増してきた高級ワインの需要は２年前をピークに昨年、今年と急低下。

June 4, 2012で途切れました。言い訳：4日の夜WSJを自宅に持ち帰るのを忘れた。早朝にやろうと朝早く来たらWSJが無かった。社員の一人が持ち帰ったのだった。

説明：

中国の大国家プロジェクトは大成功しているように見えるが、ワルシャワとベルリンを結ぶ高速道路建設を受注した中国の建設会社がドジを踏んでいるという記事。

Shuffleです。大変簡潔な表現ですね。

説明：

儲けをすべてチャラにする。wipe outとかerase the gainsと言うのですね。感じが出ている表現です。

文章：

単語：

hit a pothole: 障害に会う　potholeは道路の穴ぼこ

説明：

Tataはインドでもっとも安い車。ジャガー、ランドローバーを所有している。それを踏まえて、約束だけで実績は乏しい！と皮肉られているのだ。

このメモもとりあえず２週間近く続いてきた。三日坊主にしては上出来である。

５月の株式市場は、世界の主要市場の中で日本の下落が一番大きい。欧州危機に関して、先進国の環境を比較すると、欧州（最悪）米国（かなり影響出る）日本（影響軽微）のはずだが。。。株式市場に関しては、欧州や米国での経済・市況の影響される海外投資家が、日本市場を動かしているので彼らの資金繰りが厳しくなると東京は冷え込むと言うことなのだろう。

サブプライム問題の発生時も、日本がもっとも軽微な影響（のはず）と言われながら、実態経済は大きな影響を受けた。サブプライム時の二の舞は避けたいもの。実体経済に株式市場の落ち込みと円高の心理的影響が悪影響を及ぼさないように祈るばかり。

欧州危機の解決に頼れる人は、ドラキ欧州中銀総裁ぐらいしかいないように思える。欧州各国のバラバラぶりは想像以上にひどそうなので（今日のＷＳＪ記事）解決の可能性は限りなく低い。米銀の欧州向けエクスポージャーに火が付き（オンバランスは少ないと言う人が多いが、オフバランスのCDSなど誰も分からない）、世界不況に陥る可能性が５０％以上ありそう。

欧州危機の深さを物語る記事。難しい言葉は無いので、文章は引用せず。

欧州中銀の総裁、Mr. Mario Draghiと言う人は、危機の本質を理解しているように思われる。

文章：

説明：

文章を長く引用したが、ドイツは他国に何と言われようと自国の金融システム保護に注力していることを良く示す記事。この記事の中に、まとめとして、

Regulatory wrangling: Disputes over supervision of cross-border banks are flaring up across Europe　(wrangle: いざこざ、論争)　これを見ると各国の金融行政当局が争っている様子が良く理解できる。これを見ると、「強調してユーロシステムを維持してゆく」というのが、実行の難しいお題目であることが良くわかる。

説明：

Weekend Journalの旅行の記事。Galleはスリランカのコロニアルな街。これから日本でも有名になってくるかも。

説明：

驚かせる見出しだが、内容は、ワインの味わいは男性と女性のどちらが優れているかという内容。結論は、Based on my tasting experiences over the years, I’d have to answer: It depends on the woman. It depends on the man.

今日はＴＲＭＡのリスクマネジメントセミナーへ。取締役会に属するRisk Management Oversight Comm.についての説明。みずほグループのロンドン証券現地法人での社外役員（リスク管理委員会）の活動を詳細な説明をいただいた。

JP Morganでそのような機能が問題になったばかりなので、興味深く聞いた。　説明を聞いてからも残る本質的な疑問：１．親会社にはこのような取締役会に報告するリスク管理機能がないのに、子会社にだけ置いておいて、どの程度役になりますかね。２．日系金融機関はリスクを取らなすぎることが問題では。

WSJでは今日も、意味のわからない単語はほとんどなし。
