昨日もWSJをもちかえるのを忘れてしましました。今日はOK。今日の記事で面白かったのは、中国をめぐる領海紛争。すべて中国がいちゃもんをつけているように見える。東シナ海では日本との間で。南シナ海では、フィリピン、ベトナム、マレーシア、台湾、ブルネイとの間で、紛争が起きている。改めて考えるのは「遠交近攻策」の重要性です。英語では、A policy of making friends of distant countries while trying to conquer one’s neighbors. と言うと本には出てくる。 私個人は、 You can be tough to your direct-neibours if you can keep good relations with surrounding-neighbors. とでもいうほうが実態に近いのではないかと思う。
