相場格言シリーズ　No.2 “As goes January, so goes the year.”

アメリカで一年間の株式相場の見通しを語る際に良く使われる格言だ。

　意味は、what happens on the financial markets in the first few weeks of the calendar year tends to set the tone for the rest of the year ahead.　ということで、最初の数週間の株式市場の動きはその年の相場の動きを示している、ということだ。

　Investopiaというネット事典によれば、過去91回（つまり91年間で）の分析では、63回で、1月の動きが、その他の月の動きに比べ、年全体の動きを上手く示していたという。ご興味の有る方は、https://www.investopedia.com/january-barometer-4780193　を参照してください。

　もしこの格言が当てはまるとすると、今年の株価はボラティリティが高く、下落圧力が強くなりそうだ。

　因みに、この格言に相当する日本語の格言はない。敢えて言うと、As goes NYSE, so goes NIKKEI. ということだが、それでは格言になりませんな。
