１．オミクロン株の急拡大とデータが示す希望
世界では一日150万人という未曽有のペースでオミクロン株による感染が広まっている。ただ、オミクロン株は患者を重症化させるリスクは少なく、ワクチン接種、特にブースター接種が重症化防止に有効だとのデータが英国で得られた。それで以下のようなことが言われ始めた。

２．中国政府は香港の自由メディアを黙らせるためにメディア人を逮捕
Stand NewsとCitizen Newsの関係者が逮捕された。リンゴ日報の創業者・発行人の逮捕は記憶に新しいですね。
Jimmy Lai, who led the aggressively independent tabloid Apple Daily, was arrested in 2020 under a national security law aimed at quashing (鎮める）dissent.
３．非民主的な指導者はEUに属しているのか
Viktor Orban, Hungary’s prime minister, proudly refers to his country as an “illiberal state.”
こうした人間をEUは受け入れるのか？受け入れるべきでないのか？
EUの指導者たちは結局は事なかれ主義のようだ。Orbanをメルケル首相も受け入れていたのだ。
